Privacy Policy — Your Story

Your Story is a personal journaling app. The short version: your journal stays on your device. We don't have servers that collect it, we don't track you, and we don't sell or share your data.

Information the app uses

To help you capture your day, the app can access the following — only with your permission, and only on your device:

• Your writing and voice notes. Stored locally on your device. Voice is transcribed using Apple's built-in on-device speech recognition.
• Health & Fitness data (HealthKit). With your permission, the app reads summaries such as steps, workouts, and sleep, stored locally on your device.
• Photos. With your permission, the app references the photos taken on a given day. Photo content stays on your device.
• Location. With your permission, the app labels the places you visited. Coordinates may be sent to Apple's geocoding service to resolve place names (governed by Apple's privacy policy); the place name is stored locally.
• Microphone. Used only while you are recording a voice note.

Where your data goes

• It stays on your device. Your entries, health summaries, photo references, locations, and audio are saved in the app's local storage. We do not operate servers that receive your journal, and this version of the app makes no calls to any AI or analytics service.
• We do not track you. No advertising, analytics SDKs, third-party trackers, or cross-app tracking.
• We do not sell or share your data.

Optional: Spotify

If you connect Spotify, the app talks directly to Spotify to read your recently-played tracks. That connection is governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Spotify any time in Settings.

Apple services

Some features rely on Apple frameworks that may process data on Apple's systems under Apple's privacy policy (for example, geocoding location into place names). HealthKit data is used only to provide journaling features and is never used for advertising or sold.

Your control over your data

• Export. Settings → Your Data → Export My Journal saves a copy of all your entries as a file you can keep or move elsewhere.
• Delete. Long-press any entry to delete it (this also removes its voice recording). Deleting the app removes all of its local data.
• Permissions. Change or revoke Health, Photos, Location, Microphone, and Speech permissions any time in the iOS Settings app.

Children

Your Story is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's standard protections (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, device encryption). Because the data lives on your device, keeping your device secure and backed up is the best way to protect your journal.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If a future version of the app sends data off your device (for example, optional cloud sync or AI features), we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
